How Often and Why to Replace Coils on Your Vape Device

However, these types of atomizers rely on specialized coils that need to be replaced from time to time. How often you have to do this will depend on a variety of factors: how much you IGET Hot Flavours, what types of Cheap Vapor Juice you prefer, and how much of a “flavor purist” you are.

Cleaning Coils
If you know how to clean your coils properly, you will not need to replace them quite as often. Check your coil every day or every other day, and simply wipe it down with a microfiber cloth. You will still want to replace the coil regularly, but wiping it down will lengthen the life of each coil and reduce waste. Generally it takes a few weeks before the coil needs to be replaced entirely. You will recognize the e juice tasting burnt or having a dissatisfying vape.

Replacing Coils
If you are a heavy vaper, you will obviously need to invest in vaping replacement coils more frequently. You should also keep in mind that a lower ohm setting (lower resistance setting) will not only draw more energy from your battery, it will heat the coil faster, meaning more wear and tear. One of the issues with heating elements is that they tend to become “gummed up” over time. The type of e-liquid you choose can have a big effect on how quickly that happens. Acidity, high viscosity, and certain types of flavor additives can make the process faster. For instance, sweet e-juices with caramel and cream flavors tend to leave more residues on coils than lighter citrus or other fruit flavors.

Vape aficionados may change their coil every time they switch to a new type of e-liquid. On the other end of the spectrum, many people just wait until it’s absolutely necessary. Good signs that you should change your coil include: noticeably poorer flavor, less vapor produced, burnt or otherwise unusual taste, gurgling sounds, leakage issues, and nonsensical ohm readings. Make sure to check your coils constantly to stay up-to-date on their condition.

Buying Coils
It is very important to buy coils with the right resistance because each device is wired in a certain way. The easiest way to replace your coils is to buy the recommended brand and style. If you learn about ohm’s law—the law of resistance—you will find the right type of coil for your device. The lower the resistance of the coil, the greater strain it puts on the battery, which is why special mods need to be configured just right for sub ohm coils.

If you’re looking for a general rule of thumb, a heavy vaper should probably change their coil every week, a moderate vaper every two weeks, and the occasional user every three or four weeks. Again, these are just rough estimates. Do not just take this as a truth, as the condition of your coils can only be assured by checking them yourself.
