Cordless weed wackers have been gaining popularity among home owners and lawn care enthusiasts alike. In this article we are going to examine both the benefits and the burdens of why the gaining popularity of the cordless alien labs disposable wacker means that it is a tough force to reckon with.
The cordless weed wacker solves four problems. Problem one is the problem of all electrical weed eaters with a cord and that is mobility. Weed eaters with cords are limited in their area range of service by the length of the power cord they are attached too. Extension cords, usually come in 50 feet, but can come in more or less as well. That means that when you plug in your electric weed eater, you are extremely limited. If you have a small yard, it might not be a big issue, but most people will find that being connected to the wall by an extension cord, limits the freedom and enjoyment of weed wacking your lawn. Big constraints, with corners of the house, getting by Parked cars in the driveway, bushes, trees, etc. But with the cordless weed wacker, you can roam freely within your yard, without tripping on, or tying up cords.
Cordless weed wackers solve another problem that gas weed eaters cant. Noise. One of the most annoying things to wake up to on a Saturday morning in the summer is the sound of a gas weed eater engine buzzing in your ears. With all electric weed eaters, battery operated included, you easily wack weeds at 6am without waking the neighbors.
Problem number three – Weight. With gas powered, the wight can be a little cumbersome, especially if you have a large yard, and/or aren’t in the best shape. 2 and 4 cycle gas engines are known for being a lot heavier than cordless weed wackers.
Last and final problem solved is the environment. With electric battery operated weed eaters, you don’t have to worry about leaving a substantial carbon footprint since their are little to no emissions unlike their gas brethren.
Now lets look at the downside of owning a battery operated weed wacker. Firstly is the fact they aren’t as mobile as gas ones. Yes they are more mobile than electric weed eaters with cords, but they just don’t stand up to the mobility you get with a gas weed eater for one simple reason. A tank of gas will last a lot longer than the life of a battery. usually batteries on weed wackers will last around a half an hour some up an hour, but try wacking the toughest weeds in your lawn while all of a sudden the battery starts dying down. Not fun at all!
Lastly and probably the biggest issue that people have with cordless weed wackers is the fact that just are not as powerful as gas weed eaters. Gas weed eaters can handle some pretty tough weeds and you really need to research what kinds of weeds you have in your lawn that need to be wacked, and review the electric battery operated weed wackers that you might plan on purchasing just to make sure that customers haven’t complained on their overall power.
